What is a
humanist funeral?
If the person who passed away wasn’t religious, a religious ceremony may not feel like the right choice as it isn’t true to who they are. Humanist funerals focus on the life of a person, but without the mention of a God or faith. They are usually conducted by a celebrant, close friend or family member at the crematorium or burial site, and can include music, readings and other tributes. Many people prefer to choose a celebrant, who will work closely with you to write a personalised tribute to your loved one. This type of non-religious service is both a celebration of a life that allows you to say a dignified, personal farewell.
